Overview

The Tyndale Company is growing our PA-based operations and is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to support our Quality team. This position supports the Quality Control Engineer by performing standardized vertical flame testing on internal, customer-requested, and mill-supplied fabric samples. Responsibilities include documenting and reporting test results, assisting with second-quality garment evaluations, and helping ensure adherence to company and regulatory quality standards. The role also supports the AQL inspection program by distributing AQL forms to QC teams, collecting completed forms, and compiling inspection reports. This position offers full training and advancement opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ASTM D6413 vertical flame testing on fabrics used in garment production, including internal, customer-requested, and supplier verification testing.
  • Operate, maintain, and perform basic calibration checks on vertical flame test equipment.
  • Follow all required safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Inspect irregular garments to determine recoverability or second-quality designation based on established criteria.
  • Provide daily AQL inspection plan and forms to inbound QC teams.
  • Read and comprehend information from technical packs, testing standards, and safety regulations.
  • Record test and inspection results in required formats and report findings to the QC Engineer.
  • Support the QC Engineer in implementing company and regulatory quality standards for fabric and garment manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent attention to detail required.
  • Ability to multi-task between a warehouse and laboratory environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office & Excel required.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and document results consistently.
  • Ability to accurately measure using a tape measure.
  • Previous experience with garment manufacturing and quality will be a plus.
  • Multilingual will be a plus, not required.

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands: 

 

  • Manufacturing/Laboratory environment with routine interaction with warehouse teams. 
  • Regular standing walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching overhead or below shoulder level. 
  • Ability to lift boxes or materials weighing up to 40 lbs. 
  • Occasional travel to offsite facilities may be required. 
  • Color vision required for garment inspection.
