The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator will have the opportunity to help support the delivery of HR excellence to the organization. They will carry out programs and processes in compliance, recruiting and staffing, benefits, training and development, and safety and wellness. Working alongside the entire HR team to execute projects and events is a key element of this position.

 

HYBRID/REMOTE: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance; this opportunity is a work from home role on a part-time, regularly scheduled basis. There will be in-person events required for this role, so the ideal person must reside within a commutable distance from our Distribution Center in North Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting & Staffing:
    • Assists in Full Cycle Recruiting Process – creating and maintaining job requisitions in ATS, conducting and coordinating applicant testing procedures, coordinating virtual and onsite interviews, completing reference checks for finalist candidates, generating offer letters and agreements post verbal offer from Talent Acquisition Team, etc.;
    • Coordinates Temporary Staffing according to Business Need – builds and maintains relationships with various agencies to ensure adequate staffing levels, audits agency bills for accuracy and submits invoices through internal channels for payment;
    • Assists HR Team with Onboarding Tasks – Creating new hire paperwork, conducting new hire meetings in support of Generalist Team, prepares orientation tools and packets;
  • Compliance & Recordkeeping:
    • Maintains year-end award listings in conjunction with executive team;
    • Maintains and updates all personnel files, I-9 documentation, handbook policies, employment law posters, etc. to remain in compliance;
  • Training:
    • Coordinates training schedules with management and maintains course modules for Tyndale’s Job Training Program through LMS;
    • Supports Tyndale Connect & Explore Program;
  • Human Resources Management System:
    • Serve as HR Technical Support Resource for managers and employees with HRMS and timeclock system;
    • Maintains employee database information including creating new jobs, updating and maintaining landing page of announcements, creating and running reports as requested, etc.;
    • Provides support for Zoom Workspaces and space reservation software;
  • Wellness:
    • Participate, plan, and coordinate various wellness initiatives through Tyndale’s Wellness Committee;
  • Employee Relations:
    • Coordinates various employee events and meetings in collaboration with other HR Department members;
    • Coordinates Tyndale’s Member Recognition System end to end processing;
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Assist HR Generalist(s) with coordination of annual wellness fair and other wellness initiatives, events, and programs;
    • Create and mail FMLA paperwork to employees as needed/requested;
    • Serves as first resource for FAQ regarding benefits, Leave of Absence, and other HR Policies & Programs;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, I/O Psychology, or a related degree required. Prior internship or other experience in the field of human resources a plus, but not required. Prior experience with a HRMS is preferred, but not required;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required;
  • Strong computer literacy is required; proficiency at the intermediate level in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel preferred;
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information is required;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Must have strong attention to detail;
  • Possess a sense of urgency, and has the ability to prioritize tasks;
  • Strong time management skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks;
  • Should possess basic understanding and knowledge in human resources functional areas;
  • Must have ability to work effectively as part of a team and be collaborative;
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
