The Director of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is a critical role within Tyndale, tasked with end-to-end management of the total Tyndale portfolio of projects. This includes standardization of the processes and tools used for identification and initiation of projects, project prioritization, project timelines, resources, project deliverables, execution metrics and outcome measures. This PMO Director will work cross-functionally and at all levels across Tyndale providing effective change management support and organized leadership to ensure overall portfolio execution and individual project success. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned project management professional with exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills, adept at navigating complex business environments.

HYBRID/REMOTE: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance. This opportunity requires onsite work a minimum of 2 days a week, with 3 days a week working remotely. To be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our Tyndale headquarters in Pipersville, PA (Bucks County) or Houston, TX for onsite work as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, standardize, and implement Tyndale’s project management strategies and processes to ensure effective and efficient operations across the portfolio.
  • Monitor and manage the portfolio to achieve overall Company outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage individual project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring projects are executed within scope and on time, in line with the overall portfolio objectives.
  • Conduct critical analysis of projects across the portfolio to optimize resource allocation and project prioritization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Tyndale’s leadership and team members to facilitate both portfolio and individual project success.
  • Provide leadership and influence on project teams, fostering a collaborative environment and guiding teams towards successful project completion.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for project-related communication, ensuring clear and effective dissemination of information to all stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present reports on project status, resource utilization, and portfolio health to senior management.
  • Champion continuous improvement within the PMO, staying informed of industry trends and best practices in project and portfolio management.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making processes, addressing and resolving project-related issues.
  • Provide key information and data in support of proactive Change Management including coordination of detailed communications, training, and other associated outcome focused activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or sciences. Advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, PfMP) is a plus.
  • 5+ years in project portfolio management or a related role strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques required.
  • Ability to drive standardization across many areas with varying needs.
  • Familiarity with automated Project Management processes and tools (Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, etc).
  • Ability to travel between PA and TX locations as needed, anticipated +/- 20%.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate end to end across the organization.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; capable of simplifying complex information into consumable communication.
  • Ability to multitask and manage in a dynamic and complex environment.
