Overview

Tyndale, a growing 7x Top Workplace in PA and a Certified Women Owned Business, is adding to our Accounting department with an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Supervisor. This Supervisor oversees the day to day operations of the staff accounting and sales and use tax processes for Tyndale.  They will assure financial integrity and that best accounting practices have been followed.

 

HYBRID/REMOTE: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance. This Accounting Supervisor will work 2 days a week onsite, and 3 days a week remotely. To be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our Tyndale headquarters in Pipersville, PA (Bucks County) for required onsite work.

Responsibilities

 

  • Direct the workflow and job duty assignments and provide supervision for the Staff Accountant(s).
  • Onboard, train & develop direct reports.
  • Partner with managers to provide accounting guidance primarily with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Oversee company’s sales and use tax process.
  • Coordinate and gather information to be used for our Research & Development Tax Credit.
  • Coordinate unclaimed property review with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Assesses and participate in testing of new system rollouts that have a general ledger impact.
  • Participate in all financial audits i.e. year end, sales tax.
  • Complete various monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Month-end departmental expense reporting.
  • Coordinate record retention policies and procedures.
  • Establish and communicate performance goals for direct reports; provide regular ongoing performance feedback and coaching; write and deliver Interim and Annual Performance Reviews. 
  • Motivate staff to achieve optimal performance and to maintain employee morale.
  • Approve scheduled PTO, ensuring an adequate number of staff to meet work deadlines and requirements; track attendance of department staff and provide appropriate feedback and disciplinary action, when required.
  • Special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required;
  • 3+yrs staff management experience required;
  • 5+ years General Accounting experience.
  • Strong attention to detail necessary;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the proven ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize;
  • Ability to work independently and on a team; collaboration competency required.
  • Proven ability to provide on-the-job skills training required.
  • Proficient in computer use and Microsoft Office programs. Intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) skills required.
