Overview

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision and oversight of Tyndale’s Accounts Payable Department.  This will include but is not limited to the supervision of timely & accurate vendor invoice vouchering & payments.  The major component of the position includes providing both strategic and tactical supervision to the A/P Department, through efficient processes and workflow assignments. Set and monitor goals and deadlines for A/P department. Hire, train, mentor and develop staff. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of the Accounts Payable Department
    • Vouchering of inventory & manufacturing vendor invoices
    • Vouchering of monthly recurring expenses such as rents, utilities & member reimbursements
  • Calculate & record use tax accruals by voucher for payment of taxes
  • Process vendor invoices with proper G/L coding and approvals of vouchers
  • Maintain vendor lease contracts files
  • Work with the purchasing department to resolve any vendor issues or disputes 
  • Issue checks as needed
    • Oversee the matching of invoice to issued checks
    • Take advantage of all vendor discounts available
    • Prepare and transmit positive pay files
  • Track annual capital expenditures
  • Review Accounts Payable aging and provide weekly cash requirement reports
  • Monitor and maintain Purchases Clearing
  • Review vendor statements for credits & missing open invoices
  • Implement and supervise Accounts Payable policies and procedures
  • Maintain and administer Concur/AMEX expense reporting

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or related field required;
  • Previous A/P Supervision experience required;
  • Previous AP experience required; 5+ years’ preferred;
  • Previous manufacturing/inventory experience;
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to provide coaching, mentoring, and daily supervision of staff;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the proven ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Intermediate proficiency in mid-sized to enterprise level ERP software,
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel;
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Self-starter and detail oriented;
  • Demonstrate high level of accuracy and detail.
