Overview

If so, consider exploring our current opportunity for a talented and experienced Assistant Store Manager for our Retail Store located in the Midland, TX area. In this role you will be responsible for assisting the General Manager oversee the day-to-day functions of the business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Store General Manager through planning, assigning, and directing Associate daily workflow tasks; coordinate necessary trainings to include company on-boarding, on-the-job training and Tyndale Academy modules;
  • Ensure store is appropriately staffed through effective scheduling assignments for employees;
  • Establish rapport with customers and create relationships to build future customer-base; Generate leads, record customer information and distribute to main office when applicable;
  • Provide customer feedback regarding product selection and fit to appropriate department;
  • Drive sales by using up-selling techniques and recommending alternative products when necessary;
  • Handle daily financial responsibilities, such as performing nightly register reconciling and taking daily cash deposits to the bank;
  • Enforce Tyndale policies, procedures, and reinforce core values with all staff members. Display and replenish merchandise as needed;
  • Perform routine store cleaning;
  • Unpack received shipments;
  • Handle cash flow;
  • Process payment transactions through PayWare;

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • 2-5 years retail experience required; experience supervising retail staff preferred;
  • with a proven ability to increase store sales and profitability required;
  • Strong knowledge of business practices in a retail environment;
  • Possess basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel/Outlook/Word) preferred;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build rapport with customers;
  • Ability to resolve conflicts effectively with customers, staff, and retail systems;
  • Capable of handling cash flow and credit card transactions;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including morning, evening and weekend availability;
  • Ability to learn technical components of products;
  • Adhere to Loss Prevention control and compliance procedures;
  • Knowledge of Tyndale products, systems and processes strongly preferred;
  • Ability to lift minimum of 40lbs;
