    Are you a highly detail-oriented HR Professional who desires to work in a growing organization with an emphasis on instituting HR best practices?  Do you possess strong competencies and interest in the functional areas of benefits administration, wellness programs, and payroll? Tyndale is looking for an experienced Benefits and Payroll Specilaist with critical thinking skills to join the Human Resources Department as a strong individual contributor. The Benefits and Payroll Specialist works collaboratively as a member of the HR Team to support the company’s overall strategic vision through providing HR excellence.

    Responsibilities

    • Administer benefits including, claims resolution, change reporting, and communication of benefit information to employees.
    • Participates in the annual benefits renewal processes including, plan design analysis and modeling, and identifying recommendations for benefit selection.
    • Coordinate open enrollment processes including, creation of benefits guide books with all details of the coming years’ plans, delivery of the open enrollment communications and training materials.
    • Coordinate wellness initiative including, healthy snack program, annual wellness fair, identify partner wellness program offerings and coordinate implementation, and research and recommend wellness program additions and events.
    • Ensure compliance with all benefits-related reporting requirements.
    • Serve as employee resource as subject matter expert for benefit portal (bSwift) to kick off open enrollment, changes in benefits, etc.
    • Monitor and manage leaves of absence (FML/STD/LTD) to ensure that reporting is current and accurate.  Responsible for employee and vendor communication regarding leaves.
    • ADA compliance, partnering with managers on return to work/restricted duty situations, etc.  
    • Serve as liaison between 401K record keeper, investment service provider, and company; provide information to employees about 401k eligibility, transfers, etc.
    • Coordinate annual 401K audit.
    • Submit and monitor worker’s compensation claims.
    • Process bi-weekly payroll.
    • Serves as subject matter expert on HRMS and time tracking systems to managers and employees.
    • Stays current with the ever changing benefits environment and researches and recommends benefit program enhancements.
    • Partners with HR Department Staff on various department initiatives and projects.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field required.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a full-time direct HR role with functional responsibility in employee benefits administration and payroll functions.
    • Solid knowledge of current federal and state law, with specialized knowledge of benefits law (ERISA, etc.).
    • Strong customer service focus with a sense of urgency and excellent follow through.
    • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
    • Strong proficiency and prior experience with HRMS systems required; experience using Ultimate Software a plus.
    • Must be able to perform analytical tasks and be highly detail-oriented and meticulous about ensuring information produced is accurate.
    • Must be able to appropriately, discretely and effectively handle and communicate sensitive information and have a strong understanding of confidentiality.
    • SHRM-CP, PHR, and/or CEBS certification(s) strongly preferred.
    • Occasional travel to off-site locations may be required.
