  • Overview

    Tyndale Company, Inc. has a brand new opening for a Site Reliability Engineer. The Site Reliability Engineer will focus on the production performance and reliability of our applications, overall uptime of systems, and actionable recoverability procedures.


    • Assists in the design and implementation of infrastructure to support Tyndale's custom application needs, with an emphasis on scalability and performance measurability;
    • Collaborates closely with developers to ensure that the designed solution responds to non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, security, and maintainability;
    • Works with DevOps Engineers to ensure that the software delivery pipeline is as efficient as possible;
    • Monitors various system logs and metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis;
    • Effectively communicates with the Infrastructure, QA, and Development teams to assist in coordinating mitigation efforts that may be needed;
    • Assists in guiding Tyndale's cloud strategy, including co-management of existing services and research into how we can design our systems to better fit our growth;
    • Assists the various teams in planning for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning;
    • Assists in documentation efforts of the Infrastructure and QA/DevOps teams, including helping to maintain runbooks and participating in incidence response and postmortem investigations;
    • Perform off-hours maintenance and upgrades as deemed necessary, as well as participation in an on-call rotation;
    • Assists Director of IT with special projects as needed.


    • High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred;
    • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel;
    • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy;
    • Computer skills-proficient in MS Office, and accounting software experience preferred;
    • Proficient verbal and written communication skills;
    • Ability to succeed in a high volume environment;
    • Strong organizational skills;
    • Ability to succeed with self-directed work flow;
    • Action-orientation and a sense of urgency;
    • Ability to learn quickly;
    • Flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to change.
