  • Overview

    The Infrastructure Supervisor, in collaboration with the IT Manager, will lead the infrastructure team and ensure the effective implementation, delivery, and support of high-performing, highly-available, secure technology.  They will provide guidance and coaching to the team in terms of best practices, issue resolutions, and priority management.

    Responsibilities

    • Management of day-to-day workflow for the IT operations/infrastructure team, including help desk ticketing system management and project management.
    • Oversight of systems and infrastructure for business applications, data networks, systems security, upgrades, and maintenance.
    • Plan and implement new initiatives for Tyndale’s IT infrastructure.
    • Build and maintain documentation on infrastructure design and processes/procedures.
    • Oversee IT related assets, software licensing, and maintain vendor relationships as needed.
    • Ensure implementation and testing of backups and disaster recovery plans.
    • Provide training and act as a mentor to staff.
    • Collaborate with the development, QA, and Business Analyst teams within IT to ensure cohesive technology support to Tyndale.
    • Participate in off-hours maintenance and upgrades as deemed necessary, as well as respond to critical issues off-hours to reduce downtime; this includes participation in an on-call rotation when necessary.
    • Assist in infrastructure projects and other tasks as assigned by IT Manager.

    Qualifications

    Experience

    • 2 to 3 years’ relevant technical, and 1 to 3 years’ managerial experience required.
    • Excellent organizational and communications skills.
    • Self-motivated and ability to motivate others.
    • Detail and task-oriented.
    • Must be proactive with ability to handle multiple ongoing tasks.

     

    Education and Training

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technical training required.
    • Technical certifications on relevant systems preferred, such as MCSE or VCP.


    Skills

    • Experience training/coaching IT employees required.
    • Knowledge of and experience with a Microsoft environment (Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, etc.) required.
    • Basic network skills required: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Ethernet switching, basic routing.
    • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell preferred.
    • Knowledge of and experience with VMware or virtualization preferred.
    • Knowledge of and experience with Linux-based systems preferred.
    • Capable of transporting and physically racking servers when required.
