Overview

If so, we have an exciting opportunity as a Production Manager in our Embellishments Department here at Tyndale Company. This position is integral in managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations in the Embroidery, Heat Transfer, and Sewing Areas to ensure that all logo items are prepared accurately and timely to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Motivate staff to achieve optimal performance and to maintain employee morale
  • Plan and prepare annual budget for department;
  • Conduct work-flow planning and allocate work to department staff to maximize department efficiency and ensure customer service levels are met or surpassed;
  • Assign work schedule for all department staff to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained within all areas of the department.
  • Oversee all facets of embroidery production
  • Work with other departments to communicate issues and provide operational assistance in creating and establishing logo codes (stitch outs, etc.).

 

Periodic Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in Weekly Line Manager’s meetings and other Company meetings, as required
  • Schedule regular maintenance of machines to ensure optimal operation, and request special maintenance, as necessary
  • Establish and communicate performance goals for all positions within the department; provide regular ongoing performance feedback and coaching for all department employees; write and deliver Interim and Annual Performance Reviews. 
  • Take an active role in the recruiting process for new department staff, including the selection and hiring of new Embellishments employees
  • Orient and train employees new to the department in all required work activities, departmental and Company processes and procedures. Develop existing employees in new work activities, as appropriate.
  • Approve scheduled PTO, ensuring an adequate number of staff to meet work deadlines and requirements; track attendance of department staff and provide appropriate feedback and disciplinary action, when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management or related degree required;
  • A minimum of two-five years’ prior experience managing a department with a large staff required.
  • Prior experience in a machine production (Tajima or SWF embroidery 6 head machines)

Environment preferred; experience in a machine embroidery department a plus, but not necessary;

  • Intermediate Proficiency in MS Office required; prior experience with MAS 500 or other ERP system preferred;
  • Experience with Pulse software or Photoshop preferred;
  • Strong leadership competency and a proven track record of coaching, developing and managing staff is required;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; 
  • Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving ability;
  • Proven track record of training, coaching, motivating and mentoring staff;
  • Strong conflict resolution and change management competency;
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency;
  • Proven ability to collaborate;
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
