Overview

 

Purpose of Position: This employee will perform purchasing functions and work closely with Category Managers, Supply Clerks and Supply Manager to ensure efficient procurement of goods and services.  The ideal candidate should have the ability to provide back-up support to the Category Managers.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Place PO’s daily via MRP system as well as stock or manual orders
  • Analyze previous day items ordered to identify requirement for manual PO placement our of normal vendor order schedule
  • Process invoice discrepancies
  • Process RTV’s as applicable
  • Process Special cuts
  • Process requests for priority orders(Needs by requests)
  • Process new item data
  • Request samples/catalogues
  • RFP’s/price requests
  • Sourcing assistance upon direction from Category Manager
  • Initiate vendor pages for new suppliers/update information as appropriate
  • Update pricing, advise Category Managers and Marketing
  • Provide vendor availability/lead times upon request
  • Test data requests as applicable
  • Initiate discontinued items work orders
  • Review/Maintain Discontinued item list
  • Identify and maintain items in ESD Padding report
  • Abbreviated vendor scorecards
  • Answer miscellaneous product questions/Marketing requests
  • Answer customer service inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year prior Purchasing experience
  • Proficiency using MS Word, Outlook and Excel at an intermediate level
  • Ability to demonstrate prioritization and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands:  Office environment with moderate interaction with warehouse.
